Oak-Tree
is on the East side of route 46, on the top of Windom Hill in South Dansville.
Actual mailing address is 8910 route 46, Arkport, this rarely works with
mapquest!!!
From the South,
turning off of Rt.21 onto Rt. 46, you will see the Oak-Tree sign 3.4 miles
to go, all up hill! When you see the entering Dansville sign, that is where
our backland starts, slow down, you are almost here! If you have been looking
up into the sky line you would have seen our wind generator!! Yup you are
here!
From the North,
turn on to Sandy Hill (3/10s of a mile South of Rt 17), this turns into
Rt 46, very winding road, go slow, you will go through S. Dansville (fire
hall, Masonic Lodge, town hall, church, closed store) travel 2 more miles
up hill, when the road levels off you will see a pine hedgerow, pasture,
gate with Oak-Tree sign, old house with gate posts, really close, OK stop!
Look for the
entrance gate with posts 32' apart (Sun on top of 1 post), signs that say
Oak-Tree and Four-Winds, blue metal building with 9' white wind propellors
mounted on it! Go to the little deck with glass door. Ring bell!!! Be patient!
If I still don't show, beep your horn and be patient. I could be at the
barn or somewhere else on the 70 acres. My hands may be filled with a new
life, or I may be shoveling you know what! Make noise and be patient! If
I know you are coming and you are here when you said you would be, I should
be around to greet you, unless an animal has distracted me for some reason...
The weather
is often strange here! We are at 2000' elevation, you will hit wind blown
snow, icy road, heavy fog, snow even if it is raining/sunny in town, clear
when it is raining in town. Also farm and wild critters near or in road,
BEWARE and ALERT!
